Since 1988, PRO UNI-D has been manufacturing solenoid valves, actuators, and control valves for industrial automation, water treatment, HVAC, boiler, plumbing, cooling, irrigation, and related systems. That long product history is one reason UNID remains a strong option when buyers need larger flanged solenoid valves for dependable shutoff and flow control.
Current stocked flanged offerings extend into larger sizes, including 2", 2-1/2", 3", and 4" models, with both normally closed and normally open configurations available in larger-frame series. That makes them relevant for OEM skids, plant utility lines, fuel-transfer assemblies, water circulation systems, and general industrial service where larger pipe diameter and flanged installation are preferred.

The key point in choosing a solenoid valve is pressure differential. In many systems, especially closed-loop circuits, recirculation lines, gravity-fed tanks, vacuum service, and low-head piping, there may be little or no pressure drop across the valve. In those cases, zero-differential or low-pressure-capable designs are critical. The direct-operated diaphragm families are specifically described as able to operate without low pressure and are listed for media such as water, air, light oil, gas, and even vacuum, making them a strong fit for applications where pilot-operated valves may struggle.

For larger flanged systems where line pressure is available, pilot-operated flanged models are a practical solution for fuel delivery units, cooling circuits under pressure, compressor packages, process-water lines, steam-related equipment, and general shutoff duty. These larger flanged series are offered up to 4" and are suitable for water, air, light oil, and in some series steam, but they are intended for systems that already have operating pressure behind the valve rather than true zero-differential service.
From a compliance standpoint, published product and company documentation shows CSA certification, along with CE and ISO 9001 references. Where UL429 approval is required, the exact valve-and-coil combination should be confirmed for the project so the approval matches the assembly being installed. That is especially important in commercial fuel systems, packaged equipment, and engineered installations where certification is part of the specification.

In short, flanged solenoid valves up to 4" are a strong choice for larger industrial lines, but the application must match the operating principle. For true zero-differential duty, direct-operated low-pressure designs are the right answer. For larger pressured systems, flanged pilot-operated models offer an effective solution for shutoff and flow control across a wide range of water, oil, air, and steam-related applications.
